Canada’s Immigration Plan for 2012

Every year the Canadian government establishes the number of immigrants to be accepted under different categories. For 2012 the admission range is of 240,000 to 265,000 immigrants, maintained for the sixth consecutive year. The 2012 levels plan reflects the Government of Canada’s efforts to address economic, social and humanitarian objectives.

Projected Admissions

Quebec-selected Skilled Workers – 31,000 to 34,000
Quebec-selected Business immigrants – 2,500 to 2,700
Federal Selected Economic Programs, Provincial/Territorial Nominees, Family,
Refugees and Others – 206,500 to 228,300

Total – 240,000 to 265,000
