The Super Visa program continues to have a high rate of approval. Today, May 18, 2012, the government announced that there were 3500 applications received since the program was launched (December 1, 2011). The overall approval rate is of 83 percent.
This type of temporary residence visa is designed for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. It allows the holders to stay in Canada for up to two years, and it has a validity of up to 10 years (depending on the date of expiration of the passport). You can read more on this subject here.
