Starting December 1, 2011 the Skilled Workers selected by the province of Quebec have to send the permanent residence application to the Centralized Intake in Sydney, Nova Scotia, and not to the Visa Office responsible for their countries of origin.
Here are the main changes related to that:
- All the files will be preliminarily evaluated in Sydney and then sent to the local visa office, if complete
- The payment for the permanent residence visa and right of permanent residence is done in Canadian currency only, local currency is not accepted anymore
- The processing times will change. It is premature to say how, hopefully the waiting time will be shorter
Those who hold a CSQ (Certificate of Selection of Quebec) have to send their files to the following address:
Citizenship and Immigration
Quebec Skilled Worker Program
Centralized Intake Office
PO Box 8888
Sydney, Nova Scotia
B1P 0C9
Canada

So now, we have to translate all documents and notarized them before send them, and if the time would be shorter, for my country of residence Dominican Republic the time before this was 18 months, please let us know.
Thanks for always keep your followers inform.
