The Canadian Government comes with good news for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and Permanent residents. Starting December 1 a new type of visa is issued – Super Visa – valid for ten years and granting the right to stay for up to 24 months in Canada. The winter holidays are coming fast and at Martineau&Mindicanu we know how important it is to have your family members close, which is why we have a special promotion for you.
The Super Visa is meant to make it easier for those in process of sponsorship to wait for their file to be processed. Up until lately the validity of the multiple entry visa was of 5 years and in 2011 the government started to issue visas valid for ten years. However the maximum period of stay was of 6 months, which meant that the relatives on a visitor status in Canada had to extend their status continuously. Now they can get the right to stay in Canada for up to 2 years.
If you have applied for a multiple visa before December 1, you may be granted the Super Visa if the officer considers that you meet the eligibility criteria.
