Foreign Qualification Assessment and Recognition in Canada

On January 18, 2012, in News, by Mihaela Mindicanu

Citizenship and Immigration Canada has recently launched a website meant to promote innovations in the assessment and recognition of foreign worker qualifications. The International Qualifications Network (IQN) allows educational institutions, professionals, employers and different institutions to publish pertinent information regarding the recognition of studies earned abroad.

The website is an excellent initiative and has a great potential, however it does not contain (yet) all the necessary information. Therefore if you are interested in evaluating your credentials in Canada we strongly suggest visiting the websites of the professional orders. The procedures for recognizing qualifications will depend on whether your chosen occupation is regulated or not and on the province/territory in which you intend to settle.
